90 min - $145

Connect with your changing body and with your baby during a relaxing prenatal massage. Compassionate touch during pregnancy can positively affect the nervous system of both mother and baby, reducing stress hormones and anxiety while improving sleep, immunity and digestion. This restorative and stress-reducing treatment provides nourishment during a time of great physical and emotional change. Simple techniques can also be shared so the parents can perform prenatal massage at home, heightening the sense of connection for the entire family.

Benefits of prenatal massage can include:

  • Relaxation

  • Emotional support

  • Strengthened immune system

  • Increased blood and lymph circulation

  • Reduced leg edema

  • Relief of muscle, myofascial and joint pain

  • Increased sensory awareness, which can help with labor

  • Improved labor outcome with reduced pain perception and shorter labor

  • An enhanced connection between mother and baby

Post-natal massages are available as well. A gentle massage treatment during this time can help facilitate a mother’s recovery from a physically or emotionally stressful birth by enhancing her circulation and lymphatic drainage. Post-natal massage can also relieve strained muscles; restore the skin, muscles and connective tissue of the abdomen to their pre-pregnancy state; readjust spinal posture; and help a mother heal more quickly. It’s a chance for the mother to become reacquainted with her body and process her birth experience.
It maybe recommended that a mother wait until the second trimester of her pregnancy begins before receiving a prenatal massage. If the mother is experiencing nausea, vomiting or morning sickness; is at a high risk for miscarriage; has a high-risk pregnancy due to placental abruption or preterm labor; or has any other special medical conditions, she should consult her doctor before receiving a prenatal massage. A medical release may be required to have a massage.
